Something You Did Last Weekend

I’m writing this story from the future.

It’s actually November 24, the original date of the blog entry was September 14.

But, something I did last weekend was traveling home, see my family and participate voting for the elections. My sister was really happy to see me and she even accompanied me to the school I was assigned to vote; I’m happy to think that I’m giving her a good example, because she’s still young (she’s only 11).

Besides that, my grandmother was really busy with pastry work; she started doing “pan de Pascua” as every year for the occasion, and I saw her really tired and her feet were swollen. I wish I could be with her soon to help her in her work (she actually pays her debts with the pastry work, and I really wish I could have an income and help her… I wish she could have a quiet life now she’s with me. Money it’s always a matter in families nowadays, sadly).

I was supposed to be writing for my seminar, but I knew myself and I know that I never use the computer when I visit home; my mother is always calling for me, to chat, to help her, and so is my grandma.

I wish I could spend more time with them; being away from home it’s actually aching at times like this, when you see how much they strive to make a living and allow me to study abroad.

I hope someday be able to return them all they’re giving to me now.

One of the cities I certainly want to get to know is Moscow. Even when I’m highly eager to get to travel to Japan and live there for a couple months, I’m not interested to live in Russia, so if would go, I'll just go to know the places and the architecture. A friend

To talk about lasting friendship at our age is kind of hard to think for me right now. We are young, and most of my life I’ve lived far away from my friend’s houses, so it was hard to spend meaningful time with them out of high school. Now that I moved to the capital, it’s the inverse; I spend more time with friends, but less time with family. Ah, a never ending dilemma. So, if I’m going to talk about a friend I would like to talk about Vania. We’ve known each other since we were 14 years old (that’s about 8 years of friendship) and we have stayed in each other houses in different situations. For me, someone whose house has always been in other location, having someone who went to visit me and my family was very touching. A family photograph

This photo was taken one year and half ago. It was my first travel abroad, I earnt an international scholarship to Spain in 2015, and the travel was set for January 21th, 2016. We were in the International Airport. It was my first time, and, if I have to be honest, I cried a lot saying goodbye for such long time (6 months, wich, now in retrospective, doesn't seem that much) and being afraid that an accident might happen in the flight and I end up dying in the middle of the sea. From left to right, my grandma is the little old lady. I'm in the middle, the tallest one in the family. Then, there's my little sister, who's being held by the shoulders by my mother, the last one.
